Client: R.I.T. Farmers’ Market
Goal(s): Deliver a presentation and a strategic plan to high level R.I.T. admins by the end of an 11 week graduate level course in Managing Organizational Change.
Project Scope: The R.I.T. Farmers’ Market is currently located at a location where it is experiencing inadequate exposure and secluded from the rest of the campus community. It was the most logical location at the time, however with the recent grand opening of a new on-campus residential/leisure neighborhood named Global Village, a new opportunity awaits.
Moving the Farmers’ Market to Global Village will not only maximize profits through the increase of foot traffic, it will create a sense of cultural diversity, bettering the R.I.T. community as a whole. Students and faculty are able to obtain fresh produce from local vendors at a more flexible time frame, as a well as enjoy everything that Global Village has to offer.
Outcome: Final presentation was given to administrators and decision makers on October, 20, 2010. Currently, the director of Global Village, in co-operation with food services as well as the director of multi-disciplinary studies are implementing the strategies suggested and preparing for the change due for Fall, 2011.
